CHINESE-INDIAN AGCHEM MANUFACTURING JOINT-VENTURE OPPORTUNITIES IN INDIA WORKSHOP

A one-day workshop on February 22, 2019 in Singapore organized by Pacific Agriscience Pte Ltd.

 

Content:

1 . Opening and welcome speeches by Managing Director of PACIFIC AGRISCIENCE PTE LTD, the organiser of the workshop, President of PMFAI and their Chinese counterpart.

 

2 .The case for Chinese Agchem manufacturers to joint venture with Indian counterparts by C S Liew, Managing Director of PACIFIC AGRISCIENCE PTE LTD.

CS will discuss the compelling reasons why most Chinese plants need to mitigate their risks of being shut down in the near future and why India has the microcosms for generic agchem manufacturing that makes them suitable as JV partners for the Chinese. Alternatives to Indian partners will also be explored and discussed.

 

 3 . The uncertain outlook and challenges for Agchem manufacturing in China by Wayne Tan, CAC.

Wayne will provide details of the current and near-future scenarios for Chinese agchem manufacturing in China. Chinese government policies towards pollution control, compliance inspection schedules and agchem manufacturing outlook will be discussed and presented. Facts presented will reinforce the need for Chinese manufacturers to take strategic decisions and actions now.

 

 4 . Investment climate in India in general and in the Agchem industry in particular, with details on laws and regulations.

The invited speaker will discuss Indian government rules and regulations governing joint ventures, foreign ownership, repatriation of profits, importation of raw materials, duties and taxation, pollution control policies, government support and incentives, and the government’s drive towards “Make in India” policies which encourages local manufacturing.

 

 5 . The Growing Indian Agchem Market

The speaker, Mr Atul Churiwal of Krishi Rasayan, will detail the markets for agchem by key crops, products and market segments, distribution channels, the key players as well as the government’s drive towards food production and food security which will auger well for the future demand for agchem in India.

 

 6 . The Indian Agchem Manufacturing Industry

The speaker, Mr Ankit Patel of Meghmani Organics, which is listed in both the Singapore and Mumbai stock exchanges, will provide details on the key players, products being manufactured, opportunities and challenges they face and the overall optimism and plans the industry players are making to increase agchem production and widen their product offerings.  It will show how the Indian manufacturers are working towards meeting world demand in the light of production issues in China.

 

7 . Registrations of Agchem in India-- procedures for importers as well as those that have manufacturing plants in India.

Dr Kuppusamy, Head of Regulatory Affairs in Coromandel, a key player in the Indian agchem market, will be providing details on current procedures and near-future government policies on agchem registrations. These policies could have significant impact on imports of Technical versus local production.

 

 8 . Successful Indian-Chinese JV Case Study

An Indofil speaker will discuss their experience in a successful and happy joint-venture between themselves and Shanghai Baijin in their India-based production of Carbon Disulfide, the key raw material for the production of Mancozeb. A Shanghai Baijin speaker will also be invited to speak on their side of the successful joint-venture. This Case Study will showcase the possibilities and profitability of such India-based manufacturing joint-ventures.

-      Target number of companies from each side is a maximum of 30 to ensure good and effective interaction and networking

 

Fees:

-  USD600/participant and USD400 for each additional participant from the same company for expression of interest received by December 31, 2018

-  From January 01, 2019 onwards, USD700 and USD500 respectively

-  Fees to be paid in January 2019

 

Dinners and Networking Program:

Day 01   -   February 21, Thursday

Participants are expected to arrive Singapore and check-in by 5 pm.

All participants are invited to dinner at 7 pm at the residence of Mr POH Beng Swee, principal shareholder of Singapore listed Zagro Pte Ltd. Zagro is a very successful international agchem marketer and distributor in several countries and it will be a great networking evening for all participants and also for them to learn more about Zagro as an international business partner.

 

Day 02   -   February 22, Friday

All participants will be transported to the residence of C S Liew for dinner and networking. It will be a garden party to facilitate networking and allow participants to take home fond memories of this workshop and event, and experience Singapore hospitality.

 

Day 03   -   February 23, Saturday

That morning, all participants will be transported to Gardens by the Bay for a wonderful tour of this iconic city garden. Singapore is no longer a garden city but a city in a garden and here, you will be shown why!  Entrance fee and a Singaporean lunch will be on the account of the organizer.
